Southwest Airlines To commemorate its 53rd anniversary, offering airfares at $53

Reservations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PT on Thursday to secure a discount. Southwest reports that the $53 one-way tickets are limited to specific days and itineraries, including flights to international destinations, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii.

For flights within the lower 48, eligible travel must occur on Mondays, Thursdays, or Saturdays between August 6 and December 18.

The following dates are exclusion dates: September 2, October 14, Nov. 22-27, and November 29 through December 2.

Flights to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international destinations must be scheduled for Tuesdays or Wednesdays between August 20 and November 20, with September 3 being excluded—the sale of $53 tickets commemorating 53 years of flights.

Some routes currently advertising $53 fares are Atlanta to Tampa and Los Angeles to Phoenix.
