Newark to Dominica: United Airlines Introduces Non-Stop Flights in 2025

United Airlines will launch its first non-stop flight from New York/Newark to Dominica on February 15, 2025. This new route to Dominica's Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM) will operate on Saturdays, departing from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). It is the second direct flight between the United States and Dominica.

This new service follows major upgrades at Dominica's Douglas-Charles Airport. The runway was extended to 6,351 feet, and the surfaces were grooved for better safety. These improvements allow larger aircraft to land and reduce the risk of flight cancellations. The expanded terminal will also increase capacity and make operations more efficient.

United Airlines' direct flight is expected to boost Dominica's tourism. The tri-state area, one of Dominica's top U.S. markets, will now have easier access. Dominica is preparing for a busy 2025 travel season, with new hotels adding nearly 500 rooms, increasing hotel capacity by 25%.

This flight launch aligns with Dominica's famous Mas Domnik Carnival, scheduled for March 3-4, 2025. Known as the "Real Mas," the Carnival features calypso music and lively competitions. The two-day celebration will showcase the island's rich cultural traditions. As noted, "More details about the Mas Domnik Carnival will be announced soon."

This new route and Carnival timing promise an exciting year for Dominica's tourism.
