Emirates Launches New A350 Aircraft with Upgraded Seating and Faster Wi-Fi
Dubai's flagship airline, Emirates, has unveiled its first A350-900 aircraft, marking its first new aircraft since 2008. The A350-900 is designed to offer a more spacious and comfortable travel experience across all cabin classes, featuring upgraded seating, advanced entertainment, and enhanced connectivity.
The aircraft accommodates 312 passengers across three cabin classes: 32 lie-flat business class seats, 21 premium economy seats, and 259 economy seats. The design reflects Emirates' signature style with golden livery and interior touches such as the illuminated ghaf tree, a symbol of the UAE, alongside bronze and gold accents and a calming neutral palette.
In Business Class, passengers will find the newly designed "S Lounge" seats, offering 32 lie-flat leather seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. These seats feature a 44-inch pitch, 21-inch width, wireless charging, adjustable lighting controls, and a 20-inch 4K screen for entertainment. There are also multiple charging ports, a mini-bar, and extra storage.
Premium Economy offers a more comfortable, affordable option with 28 seats arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration. These seats provide a pitch of 39 inches and a width of 19.5 inches, along with adjustable headrests and footrests. Passengers can enjoy a 13.3-inch 4K screen, in-seat charging points, a side cocktail table, and a pillow and blanket for extra comfort. Dining features generous meals served on Royal Doulton chinaware with Robert Welch cutlery.
Economy Class seats have been upgraded with light blue fabric and bronze-colored armrests. They offer a pitch of 31-32 inches and a width of 18.4 inches. Each seat has a 13.3-inch 4K screen. A new 6-way adjustable headrest will be added in 2025 for better neck support, eliminating the need for neck pillows.
The A350 features higher ceilings and wider aisles in all classes, creating a more spacious environment. The larger galley area gives Economy Class passengers more space to stretch and access complimentary snacks. Storage capacity has been improved with larger overhead bins and compartmentalized pockets.
For connectivity, the A350 is equipped with a new-generation antenna system for faster Wi-Fi, offering up to ten times the current bandwidth. Passengers will enjoy uninterrupted internet access, even on long-haul flights, including those over the North Pole for flights to the Americas. The ice in-flight entertainment system offers over 6,500 channels, including 2,500 movies, 650 TV shows, and 4,000 hours of music and podcasts in over 40 languages.
Emirates will launch its first A350 commercial flight to Edinburgh on January 3, 2025. The aircraft will also serve cities in the Gulf region, such as Bahrain, Muscat, and Kuwait, as well as European destinations like Lyon and Bologna and cities in West Asia like Colombo, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. Additional destinations, up to 15 hours from Dubai, will be announced in 2025.
With the A350-900, Emirates continues to redefine air travel, offering passengers a superior flying experience with advanced technology, modern comforts, and a commitment to excellent service.
