Delta Faces Lawsuit After Woman Injured by Beverage Cart on Flight

A Florida woman has filed a lawsuit against Delta Airlines, alleging serious injury after being struck by a beverage cart during a flight. Gail Hamilton, the passenger, claims she was seated in an aisle seat on Delta Flight 263 from Paris to New York, when a flight attendant "unexpectedly" hit her multiple times with a loaded cart. This incident reportedly caused significant injury to her right shoulder.

The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan federal court, accuses Delta and the unidentified flight attendant of negligence. Hamilton argues that Delta failed to properly train its staff and ensure the safe operation of the beverage cart in the aisle. She is seeking unspecified damages for her injuries. Both Hamilton's attorney and a Delta spokesperson declined to comment on the lawsuit.

This case adds to Delta's growing legal challenges. Last week, the airline was sued in the U.S. District Court in Georgia for allegedly refusing to issue refunds after a technology outage. The outage, caused by a CrowdStrike issue, led to the cancellation of about a hundred flights across the U.S.

In another incident, a Delta flight from Detroit to Amsterdam made an emergency landing at JFK Airport after passengers were served contaminated food. Several passengers fell ill, and 12 received medical treatment upon landing. One frustrated passenger expressed her concerns on social media, saying, "Delta, I need to know how you're going to get me to Amsterdam today.
