Alaska Airlines Wins 2024 Award for Best In-flight Dining in North America
Alaska Airlines has won the 2024 Business Traveller Award for Best In-flight Food and Beverage in North America. The award reflects the airline's innovative approach to in-flight dining.
In May 2024, Alaska Airlines reintroduced hot meals to Premium Class and Main Cabin on flights over 1,100 miles. The updated menu includes dishes like the Carnitas Breakfast Bowl and Panang Curry Chicken, which are designed with premium ingredients to enhance passenger comfort and satisfaction.
Enrique Perrella, Aviation Director at Business Traveller, praised the airline's efforts, stating, "Alaska Airlines's exceptional fine dining brings West Coast flavors to life with Asian-inspired dishes that reflect thoughtful innovation and quality." This approach has positioned the airline as a leader in North American in-flight dining.
To further enhance its offerings, Alaska Airlines launched Cloud Cruiser craft beer in collaboration with Seattle-based Fremont Brewing. Introduced in Spring 2024, this exclusive beer is available in-flight and at select Alaska Lounges. In November, the airline added Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher, a non-alcoholic sparkling water, to its beverage lineup, making it the first U.S. airline to offer hoppy water on board.
Winning this award involves a two-step process. A panel of aviation experts shortlists candidates, followed by a public vote. Alaska Airlines earned recognition for its fresh take on the in-flight dining experience, combining local flavors with creative execution.
With dishes crafted by Michelin-starred chef Brandon Jew and exclusive beverage options, Alaska Airlines continues to enhance its onboard offerings. Travelers now enjoy a more refined dining experience, setting a new benchmark for North American airlines.
