Checked Baggage

Turkish Airlines baggage allowance for checked bags is based on two systems: Piece Concept and Weight Concept.

Piece Concept:

• Economy Class: 1 piece of checked luggage (up to 23 kg).
• Business Class: 2 pieces of checked luggage (each up to 32 kg).
• Maximum Dimensions: A single piece of baggage must not exceed 158 cm (length + width + height).

Weight Concept (Domestic Flights):

Domestic flights follow the weight concept, allowing up to a total weight for your baggage:

• Economy Class: 23 kg per bag.
• Business Class: 32 kg per bag.

Fee:The fee for checked bags varies based on fare type. You can find the particular price of your baggage through their online calculator.

Important Notes:

• No piece of baggage should exceed 32 kg. Baggage over this limit must be split into two or more pieces.
• Infant passengers are allowed 8 kg of checked baggage plus a stroller not exceeding 115 cm.
• On interline flights with other airlines, the baggage rules may vary based on the Most Significant Carrier (MSC).

Carry-on Baggage

Turkish Airlines Carry-on baggage rules vary between Economy and Business Class:

Economy Class:

• Allowance: 1 piece of cabin baggage with maximum dimensions of 23x40x55 cm.
• Maximum weight: 8 kg.
• 1 personal item (e.g., handbag, laptop bag) with maximum dimensions 40x30x15 cm and weight 4 kg.

Business Class:

• Allowance: 2 pieces of cabin baggage (each measuring 23x40x55 cm).
• Maximum weight for each piece: 8 kg (total 16 kg for both pieces).
• 1 personal item (same dimensions and weight as Economy Class).

Important Notes:

• Infant Passengers: One piece of cabin baggage up to 8 kg.
• Special Cases: Items like medical devices, musical instruments, and duty-free goods may have special allowances.
• TSA and Airport Rules: Depending on the airport, additional restrictions may apply, especially for liquids over 100 ml.

Extra and Excess Baggage

If your baggage exceeds the free allowance, Turkish Airlines offers a simple way to purchase additional baggage.

Extra Baggage Fees:

• Piece Concept Routes: Additional baggage will incur a fee of $80 per piece weighing between 23-32 kg.
• Excess Weight: Any bag over 32 kg must be split and checked as multiple pieces.
